Message Yeah I moved the coil pack to the other cylinder and its confirmed to be working. So both coil packs are working. i pulled the spark plugs out and swapped them. So the spark plugs are okay. i ran the car with the coil pack off and stuck the suspect spark plug in it too and it arc'd so I know it works.

I will do a compression test later on on that cylinder. What should the correct pressure be?

Perhaps fuel is getting in spark is firing and the compression is too low for ignition?

Maybe the fuel smelling issue was from something else. Which led me to believe that the injector was working before. Maybe there isnt fuel going in it... I checked for continuity and a voltage from the plug of the injector (not injector itself) and compared it to another knowing working cylinder and they share the same numbers so i know there maybe adequate current to the injector.

After a bit of reading... I didnt check the resistance across the injector itself. What is it suppose to read at?

I also read that there are two types of injectors. I believe mine must be the old type since it is a 1990 model (VIN = jn1cz24s4lx000009).

I never tried looking at codes from the ECU. Im not sure about where to start there.

So far in the to do list diagnosis:
-compression test
-ECU code verification
-resistance across injector

Worst case scenario:
-pull plenum off and replace #4 injector (one below fuel regulator)
